TITLE: ASSOCIATE
DUTIES: Within corporate sector including chemicals conduct financial and credit analyses, including the following: company financial statements, capital structures, covenants, indentures, competitive positions and business strategies. Analyze profitability, credit history, liquidity, cash flow generation, and compare and contrast with similar companies of the same industry, including, without limitation, chemical sector. Analyze quality of management, potential industry risks, and event angles such as M&A and refinancing opportunities. Build financial models to forecast financial performance, analyze credit metrics, interest coverage, and companies’ abilities to service debt. For international entities including sovereigns conduct macroeconomic and credit analyses on sovereigns, including government financial statements, debt metrics, budgets, current accounts, balance of payments, financing needs, and contingent/off-balance sheet liabilities. Analyze sovereign debt sustainability by building macroeconomic related models. Analyze financial resources, credit ratings and credit metrics of supranational entities such as the EFSF, ESM, IMF and ECB. Assist others in making investment recommendations based on the above analyses. 40 hrs/wk, M-F 9:00am-5:00 pm, $135,000/year.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or related, plus a minimum 3 years experience as an Associate with an investment adviser, hedge fund, and/or investment bank. Experience must include both leveraged finance and restructuring including within chemicals sector and international entities, analysis of high yield bonds and term loans, indentures, credit agreements, liquidity, financials, collateral, covenants, recoveries and industry dynamics, including those of distressed companies.
